As I slammed on the brakes at a pedestrian crossing, frantically looking in my rear view mirror to make sure I wasn't about to recieve a smash in the backside, I suddenly saw the sight that depicted 21st Century living, in the Western World!
BUM! I wish I had my camera!
Waiting, poised to cross, were two women, ok, slightly butch looking and a wee bit archetypal, in painting overalls carrying tools of their trade, chattin as if they were still pegging washing out over the garden fence; and a man, who funnily enough looked very feminine and had the look of endless sleepless nights and days dedicated to the rounds of childrens needs and wants, clutching the screaming squirming hand of a very frustrated 2 year old with a papoosed new born snuggled to his front.
"Mummy when I was in Heaven looking for my right mummy, I was looking and looking and looking thinking errrrrrrrrr no not her, errrrrrrrrrrr not her, OMG NO not her!!! And then, I saw you! You standed out and was all shiney and I got all tingley and I thought YES YES!! So I said goodbye to all my friends and went and jumped into Portal number 4 and slid ALL the way into you and dreampt dreams in your tummy until I came out and you gave me cuddles and kisses and you smelt sooooo good!
I'm soooooo glad you're my mummy I love you more than anything!
I do miss my friends though!! When I go back they might not be there, they might be little girls or boys having their holiday like I am now and I'll have to wait even longer to play with them. But, then I spose I can help them like they are helping me now yeah?
Awwwwww Mum, I've got the BEST life EVER! Thank you! I LOVE you!!"
"Wow Jai!!! I LOVE you too darling boy!!"
